What is the UMass System?
The University of Massachusetts, or UMass, system consists of four undergraduate campuses. Starting next fall (2025) tuition and mandatory fees at the UMass schools will be covered for undergraduate students whose households earn less than $75,000.
Each UMass schools' pledge
UMass Boston
- The Beacon Pledge Program "offers high-need students the ability to earn a bachelor's degree for free... In-state students from families with an adjusted gross income of $75,000 or less qualify for the program.
UMass Dartmouth
- The UMass Dartmouth Deal "will be available to in-state undergraduate students with an annual family income of $75,000 or less... The UMass Dartmouth Deal will also guarantee eligible students a room in on-campus housing."
UMass Lowell
- UMass Lowell will cover student tuition and fees for those whose family income is less than $75,000.
UMass Amherst
- UMass Amherst will cover student tuition and fees for those whose family income is less than $75,000.
